‘New’ Page 99 Mapping
A mapping project based on the ‘page 99 test.’ If you open a book to page ninety nine, the quality of the whole is supposedly revealed. Page 99 is said to be an alternative to the blurb found on the back of the book, revealing key characters, storyline and reveal if the book will be a suitable read.
This theory has been researched and tested, revealing contrasting theories; page 69 and page 72, also said to reveal the same content. Ten Penguin Popular Classic books were chosen, creating an overall analysis, comparing all three pages, the language used, resulting in one successful page from each book based on the word count and its content.
